Doll Case Study

After watching the doll case study I feel really overwhelmed and shocked. I never thought that children would have such a view on the different colours of people. As I was watching the video I was wondering where the children had established these negative thoughts from. Personally I feel I don't really have any negative attitudes and stereotypes towards any people because I feel that everyone is the same. Nobody should be left out of an activity because of their colour and the culture they come from.Throughout elementary and high school I have made many different friends all from different races and cultural backgrounds. I feel that people hold negative attitudes and stereotypes towards the different races of people because that's what they are taught from family and friends and also sometimes in media tv shows. Like for example they think black means bad and that white means good and because they learn that from a young age they end up thinking like that until they are older and will never come out of that zone.

I feel that people acquire these views in many different ways including from family friends and media like I mentioned in my last paragraph. The society is affected when such views are held by a large number people because everyone just ends up following what the society says about certain issues. Like for example when you have a bunch of friends and all those friends don't like a certain group of people you obviously won' t like them either. I mean we all may say we have our own views about different issues. But in the end we usually don't want to be standing all alone it seems better and easier to follow what other people have to say.
